South Africa is a country that is stimulating all your senses and your mind. When in the Johannesburg and Pretoria area, you can marvel at the origins of mankind in the Sterkfontein Caves, and the origins of apartheid, liberation and democracy in various museums and a tour to Soweto. Very worthwhile and quite unique is the fascinating 4h Cullinan diamond mine underground tour. The absolute top attractions of South Africa are their national parks: we stayed at Kruger, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi and Royal Natal, with side trips to iSimangaliso Wetland, Ukhahlamba Drakensberg and Golden Gate Highlands. We saw an abundance of wildlife, including the big-five, but also rare sightings, such as a Zebra in a tree or a turtle mistaking a crocodile for its own kind. Here, you are in the cage (your car) and you can observe the animals in their natural environment, showing their natural behavior.
