Slovenia & Croatia 2019 |

| Our first summer vacation in 2019 took us to Slovenia and Croatia. Beautiful lake Bled lies like an emerald in the Julian alps. We used a bicycle to ride around it and to the Vintgar Gorge all in one day. The Julian alps with the Vršič Pass and the gigantic Planica ski jump arena are worthwhile a visit. We saw the Lipica stud farm and the Skocjan caves. A definite highlight is the Plitvice Lakes National Park with its countless waterfall cascades amidst a forest. And as this is not enough, we drove to Rastoke, a few miles north of the park, which is a historic milling village that is built around waterfalls. |
