Aeolian Islands 2025

The Aeolian Islands are part of Sicily and all of volcanic origin. We visited with a travel group the islands Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Alicudi and Stromboli. This was primarily a hiking tour, but also included kayaking, snorkeling, boat tours and sightseeing. One highlight was a hike half way up the Stromboli and seeing volcanic eruptions and hot lava. At the end of the tour, we rented a car and visited Mt. Etna two times for hiking excursions. We also saw the east Sicilian cities Catania, Taormina and Syracuse.
